About the Role
We're looking for an experienced compliance leader, based in Ireland, to lead our global compliance assurance and testing function. This is a global specialist role within our Global Risk & Compliance team, providing independent review of control effectiveness across every regulatory domain and jurisdiction we operate in, including the UK, EU, APAC, and US.
If you enjoy building testing frameworks from the ground up, turning complex regulation into practical methodology, and influencing senior stakeholders, this one's for you.
What you will do
- Lead EML's global compliance assurance programme, setting the strategy, methodology, and frameworks for testing across all regulatory domains.
- Plan and deliver risk-based testing across business units and regions, including testing for new regulatory requirements and regulatory change.
- Provide independent assessment of control effectiveness and drive consistent testing standards across global operations.
- Lead root cause analysis on findings and produce executive and board-level reporting on results, trends, and assurance metrics.
- Champion testing automation and technology to make assurance smarter and more efficient.
- Lead, coach, and develop a small team, building their capability in methodology, test scripts, and best practice.
- Partner with all three lines of defence, including Internal Audit and Risk, to ensure full coverage without duplication.
- Support regulatory examinations across jurisdictions, from evidence preparation to embedding lessons learned.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
