The Company currently writes lines of business including; specialty insurance: aviation & aerospace, energy, marine, property, terror & political violence, contingency and other specialty lines; reinsurance: property reinsurance, property retrocession, specialty reinsurance, whole account/multi-class and bespoke.
Role Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Compliance Monitoring Manager to join The Fidelis Partnership at an exciting stage of its growth. The successful candidate will take ownership of compliance monitoring activity across the business, leading a variety of reviews and working closely with key stakeholders to identify compliance risks, gaps and opportunities for improvement. This is a hands-on role, with responsibility for both the delivery of monitoring reviews and the continued development of the compliance monitoring framework.
Role Responsibilities
Compliance Monitoring
- Lead and manage compliance monitoring activity across the business.
- Develop and maintain the compliance monitoring plan and schedule.
- Conduct thematic reviews to identify and assess compliance risks across different business areas.
- Perform fact-finding, testing and desk-based monitoring to assess adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Identify gaps and challenge existing processes, controls and approaches.
- Track and monitor corrective actions through to timely completion.
- Stay up to date with regulatory developments and industry best practice to support the continued enhancement of the monitoring framework.

Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with stakeholders across Underwriting, Claims, Finance, Pricing and other areas of the business.
- Build effective relationships across different functions and adapt communication style depending on the audience.
- Present monitoring findings, recommendations and areas for improvement to senior stakeholders.
- Provide guidance and support to the business on compliance monitoring requirements.
Reporting and Governance
- Take ownership of compliance monitoring reports and provide clear, insightful reporting to senior management.
- Prepare and present monitoring updates and findings to the Management Committee and Boards.
- Ensure recommendations and agreed actions are appropriately documented, tracked and followed through to completion.
- Identify trends and recurring issues across monitoring activity and use these to inform improvements to the compliance framework.
Skills & Experience
- Insurance experience is essential, ideally within the London Market.
- Compliance, internal audit or risk background with strong monitoring, testing or assurance experience.
- Experience within an insurer, broker, MGA or other insurance intermediary.
- Strong understanding of FCA requirements and regulatory expectations.
- Experience leading monitoring reviews from planning and testing through to findings and actions.
- Comfortable with hands-on testing and fieldwork, with the confidence to challenge and influence stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercially aware, autonomous and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Manager level or above experience preferred.
