Don’t just interpret regulation. Help shape how the business responds to it.
We’re working with a leading financial services organisation looking for an experienced Senior Compliance Policy Consultant to join its second-line Compliance function.
This is a high-profile specialist role for someone with strong Wealth, Investments or Financial Planning expertise who enjoys getting under the skin of regulation and turning complex FCA requirements into clear, commercially focused action.
You won’t be focused on traditional monitoring or assurance. Instead, you’ll be the go-to regulatory SME, tracking what’s coming next, assessing the impact on the business and influencing how senior stakeholders respond.
What you’ll be doing
- Own the interpretation of new FCA consultation papers, policy statements and regulatory developments.
- Assess the impact of regulatory change across Wealth, Investments and Financial Planning.
- Translate complex regulation into clear, practical guidance for the business.
- Produce high-quality policy papers, technical briefings and regulatory updates.
- Provide expert second-line advice and constructive challenge to senior stakeholders.
- Support the business in implementing regulatory change effectively.
- Act as a key SME on Conduct of Business and customer outcome requirements.
- Build strong relationships across the business and influence decision-making at a senior level.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
