About the Role:

Remitly is looking for a Senior Compliance Program Manager – Global Expansion to serve as the central programme manager for Compliance's participation in our global expansion strategy. You will bring structure to complex regulatory initiatives, planning, governing and delivering the Compliance workstreams that underpin licensing applications, regulatory approvals and market readiness.

You will report functionally to the Senior Manager, Compliance Governance & Program Management, with a dotted line to the Director of Compliance EMEA, and partner closely with our Expansion team, Legal, Product, Risk, Operations, Engineering and regional Compliance teams.

This role does not own the overall expansion programme. It owns making sure Compliance delivers its obligations efficiently, through strong programme management, governance and operational excellence, building the scalable frameworks that let Compliance keep pace as Remitly grows internationally. This is a hybrid role (3 days a week onsite) based in our London office.

You Will:

  • Lead programme management for Compliance workstreams supporting global expansion, developing integrated plans aligned to enterprise expansion milestones.
  • Manage timelines, dependencies, risks and resource planning across multiple concurrent expansion initiatives, coordinating across Financial Crime, Regulatory Compliance, Licensing, Governance and Risk.
  • Track Compliance deliverables and prepare executive reporting, dashboards and programme updates for Compliance leadership.
  • Coordinate Compliance activities supporting payment institution, electronic money institution and other licensing applications globally — partnering with Legal, Licensing and regional Compliance teams to deliver high-quality, timely regulatory submissions.
  • Monitor licensing commitments and post-approval implementation, and coordinate Compliance responses to regulator information requests during licensing and supervisory engagements.
  • Keep licensing documentation, evidence and governance artefacts complete, consistent and audit-ready.
  • Build and continuously enhance the governance frameworks, programme management standards, templates and reporting practices behind Compliance's expansion activities, including RAID logs and action trackers.
  • Facilitate Compliance governance forums, steering committees and working groups supporting expansion initiatives.
  • Act as the primary programme management partner between Compliance and the Expansion team, translating regulatory and licensing requirements into structured implementation plans and escalating delivery risks, dependencies and resource constraints.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and automate delivery, establishing repeatable operating models and metrics that scale across future expansion programmes.
  • Support strategic planning for future market expansion and contribute to broader Compliance transformation and operating model improvements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
