About Important Looking Pirates
Important Looking Pirates (ILP) is a multiple VES and Emmy award-winning studio and have created animation and visual effects for some of the greatest storytellers. About the position
We are looking for Senior Compositing Artists to join our team on a freelance or fixed term contract with start date in August and September, and end date December 2026 with opportunity to extend.

As a Senior compositor at ILP you are the last in a chain of great artists, and will have the pleasure to deliver the final, awesome looking images. You take pride in owning your work from start to finish, while proactively collaborating with team members from different disciplines.
Your work will include:
- Evaluating creative and technical approach for assigned shots together with your supervisor
- Setting up your composites from scratch without any template
- Performing all tasks associated with the compositing process, including 2D tracking, matte extraction, layering of elements, and colour grading
- Communicating with the team on matters regarding your schedule and tasks
- Integrating world-class CG with photographic plates
- Adding elements, grading and final touches to full CG shots
- Delivering great-looking shots on time
- Proactively engaging with artists within other disciplines regarding the shots you are working on

You need the following:
- 6+ years of experience from working with high-end visual effects
- Excellent knowledge of Nuke
- Very thorough knowledge of all aspects of compositing
- A habit of working in a highly organized fashion
- Great communication skills in English, both written and spoken
- A humble and helpful attitude
- An excellent understanding of how to proactively and critically evaluate your own work, before presenting it to your lead or supervisor
- Excellent eye for judging photo-realism, balance, and colour
- Deep compositing experience
