Senior CAD Technician

Role overview
Casado Design Limited is seeking a Senior CAD Technician to produce accurate technical drawings and help maintain high standards across design deliverables. The role combines hands-on CAD work with drawing coordination, quality assurance, and support for other technicians. The successful candidate will take ownership of drawing quality, support reliable project delivery, and report directly to the Design Manager.
Key responsibilities
- Produce, update and issue CAD drawings and technical documentation in line with project requirements and company standards.
- Review drawings for accuracy, completeness and consistency before issue.
- Apply and quality assurance procedures, including documented checks, revision control and approval records and be involved in improving such procedures.
- Coordinate drawing information with the Design Manager and wider project team, resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain organised files and records so that current information is easy to identify and trace.
- Support and guide junior technicians, sharing good CAD and QA practices.
- Identify recurring errors and recommend improvements to drawing workflows and standards.

Essential requirements
- Substantial experience producing technical drawings in a senior CAD role, ideally in the mobile telecoms infrastructure or similar industry.
- Proven quality assurance experience, including checking deliverables, managing revisions and maintaining clear records of reviews and corrections.
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD LT software and drawing standards.
- Ability to interpret design information, spot inconsistencies and communicate practical solutions.
- Strong attention to detail, organisation and ability to manage competing deadlines.
- Confidence working independently and collaborating with designers and other project stakeholders.
- Experience working in a professional office or technical environment
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence using computers and standard office software
- The ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines
- A willingness to ask questions, take responsibility, and learn new skills

Location
This is a full-time, office-based role in Hewish, just outside Weston-super-Mare. Candidates should live within a 45-minute commute of our office.
