Role Description

The Senior CAD Technician role is a full-time hybrid position based in Leeds, with the flexibility to work from home for part of the week. In this role, the Senior CAD Technician will produce high-quality CAD drawings and 3D models for civil, structural, and mechanical engineering projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design standards.

Day-to-day tasks include:

  • Interpreting engineer and architect specifications
  • Updating drawings through project lifecycle changes
  • Coordinating with project teams to resolve design queries

The Senior CAD Technician will also manage drawing standards, support continuous improvement of CAD processes, mentor junior technicians, and contribute to the integration of new CAD tools and workflows.

Qualifications

  • Ability to provide effective Technical Support for CAD software and related engineering tools.
  • Skills in Computer Maintenance and Computer Repair to ensure reliable CAD workstation performance.
  • Strong Troubleshooting abilities for software, hardware, and file management issues.
  • Knowledge of Operating Systems relevant to CAD environments and networked workstations.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) and familiarity with BIM workflows.
  • Experience producing detailed drawings and models for civil, structural, or mechanical engineering projects.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers.
  • Relevant technical qualification or diploma in CAD, engineering, or a related discipline; substantial experience in a similar role is highly valued.
