The Opportunity

Clarion Events is one of the world’s leading event organisers, headquartered in London. Clarion Defence & Security host DSEI UK, a leading defence exhibition which attracts over 75,000 attendees every 2 years. The team is growing and we are seeking a Senior Conference Producer to join us to work on DSEI UK and other defence content, reporting directly to the Head of Content.

The candidate will join a dynamic, collaborative team to help us research and design compelling event programmes, including the industry leading DSEI UK. The candidate will build and nurture partnerships with UK, NATO and international militaries, government bodies and industry to deliver quality, forward-thinking content. This is an opportunity for a candidate who is eager to work on one of the largest B2B events in the world, in a fascinating market.

The candidate will conduct in-depth industry research, design key agenda themes, secure speakers and will build strategic relationships with key government and military stakeholders. This is a key role in shaping the growth and success of our events and membership programme by bringing in high-profile partners, maximizing audience engagement, and amplifying our reach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research: Dive deep into market trends and uncover emerging topics, issues, and key players to craft events that are relevant, timely, and engaging.
  • Content Creation: Design event agendas that excite and engage, with fresh, innovative approaches to sessions and speaker formats, strong copy writing skills are a must.
  • Speaker Recruitment: Identify, recruit and build relationships with industry thought leaders, engaging speakers, and key stakeholders.
  • Project Management: Oversee all aspects of content production and execution, coordinating seamlessly with marketing, sponsorships, sales, and operations teams.
  • Innovation & Creativity: Continually look for ways to make each event unique and memorable, using creativity to solve problems and elevate the attendee experience.
  • Client Relationship Building: Strategic alliance and partnership management to help us establish key networks in core markets.

Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours

  • Solid experience producing multi-track commercial events in a fast-paced organization.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills, with a keen eye for trends and market shifts.
  • Exceptional communication skills—both written and verbal—and a flair for storytelling.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude with a love for working collaboratively and contributing to the team.
  • Self-starter looking to work semi-autonomously to deliver a year-round programme of content within the Clarion Defence team.
  • Highly organised with strong project management skills to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Defence industry knowledge preferred, but not essential
