This full-time Senior Conference Producer / Conference Producer position is a hybrid role based in the City of Bristol, with flexibility for some work from home; remote applicants will also be considered. The role involves researching and writing agendas for a selection of AMI’s in-person and virtual conferences for the international plastics industry, ensuring high-quality content and recruiting key industry speakers. Creating profitable events that exceed the expectations of delegates, sponsors, and exhibitors.
Who are you?
We are looking for an experienced conference producer seeking a new challenge, or an ambitious professional eager to transition into the role. Direct conference production experience is not required; we welcome applicants from backgrounds including PR, journalism, content management, recruitment, sales, academia, marketing, and event management.
- Strong track record of generating successful B2B conference programmes and securing high-level speakers for both in-person and virtual events.
- Experience contributing to the development of new event or product opportunities (senior role)
- Excellent organisation skills with the ability to multi-task working on more than one project at a time and to tight deadlines.
- Good communication and telephone skills with an attention to detail.
- Fluency in English and one additional language (preferred).
- A keen and inquisitive mind able to gather, analyse and interpret quantitative and qualitative data to identify and forecast trends, strategies, and competitive dynamics within the researched sector.
- It would be an advantage to have experience of working on events in a related market – e.g. manufacturing, chemicals, oil & gas, materials, science, engineering, product design, automotive, medical, or packaging.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
