Programme Manager – Legal Events

Location: Fully remote, ideally UK-based
Sector: B2B legal and professional services events

The opportunity

We are working with an established B2B events business that produces high-quality, content-led events for senior professionals across the legal sector.

They are looking for an experienced Programme Manager to take ownership of the research, development and delivery of their conference programmes.

This is a highly visible role involving regular communication with senior industry professionals. The successful candidate will need to be extremely polished, highly organised and exceptionally detail-focused.

Key responsibilities

  • Managing the complete conference production cycle, from initial research through to onsite delivery and post-event review
  • Conducting in-depth research with senior professionals and other market stakeholders
  • Identifying emerging issues, commercial challenges and relevant areas of debate
  • Creating timely, commercially focused conference agendas with a clear narrative and engaging session formats
  • Identifying, approaching and securing high-calibre speakers, moderators and contributors
  • Building trusted relationships with senior and high-profile industry figures
  • Writing polished programme copy, session descriptions, speaker communications and briefing documents
  • Preparing speakers through briefing calls and helping to shape engaging, well-structured discussions
  • Maintaining complete accuracy across agendas, biographies, job titles, session information and event materials
  • Working closely with marketing, commercial and operations teams to support audience growth, commercial performance and the delegate experience
  • Acting as the programme lead onsite, managing speakers, timings and last-minute changes calmly and professionally
  • Using feedback and market intelligence to strengthen future events and identify new content opportunities

About you

You will have:

  • Previous experience producing B2B conferences, forums, summits or other content-led events
  • An exceptional level of attention to detail and a genuine commitment to getting things right
  • A polished, credible and confident communication style
  • The ability to build rapport with senior stakeholders
  • Strong research skills and excellent editorial judgement
  • Excellent written English and the ability to produce sophisticated, accurate copy
  • Strong organisation and project management skills
  • The ability to manage multiple stakeholders, workstreams and deadlines remotely
  • A proactive and accountable approach, with the confidence to take full ownership of your events
  • Sound judgement, discretion and composure under pressure

Experience within legal, finance or another complex professional market would be particularly valuable, although applications from strong conference producers in other sectors are welcomed.

Working arrangements

The role is fully remote and would ideally suit someone based in the UK, or in a nearby location with strong alignment to UK working hours.
Some flexibility will be required when working with stakeholders in different time zones. Travel will also be required for live events.
