Montresor Legal Recruitment

Montresor Legal is working with a leading international US law firm that is looking to appoint a Senior Conflicts & AML Analyst to join its London team.

Role Overview

This is a senior and business-critical position within the firm’s global conflicts and new business function, supporting complex conflicts reviews, AML analysis and client onboarding across the UK, Europe and wider international network.

The role is both highly analytical and stakeholder-facing. The successful candidate will work closely with Partners, senior lawyers, Conflicts Lawyers, MLROs and colleagues across multiple jurisdictions, providing practical and commercially grounded advice on conflicts and financial crime risk.

As the firm continues to expand into new markets and increasingly complex areas of work, the Conflicts & AML team is dealing with more sophisticated client structures, higher-risk matters and cross-border considerations. This creates a genuine opportunity for someone experienced in AML and conflicts to develop further within a high-performing international environment.

The Senior Conflicts & AML Analyst will play a key role in the firm’s new business acceptance process.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing conflicts search requests and ensuring accurate and relevant information is captured
  • Conducting detailed corporate research and identifying relevant affiliated entities
  • Preparing search terms and reviewing conflicts results to identify potential legal, commercial or business issues
  • Escalating complex conflicts matters to Conflicts Lawyers where required
  • Preparing and issuing conflicts reports to Partners, Associates and support teams
  • Maintaining clear and accurate records of conflicts research, analysis and outcomes
  • Conducting AML and client due diligence on new and existing clients
  • Reviewing client structures and assessing AML risk across low, medium and high-risk matters
  • Preparing detailed AML risk assessments and supporting documentation
  • Advising Partners and Associates on AML requirements and relevant documentation
  • Conducting enhanced due diligence where appropriate
  • Carrying out sanctions and adverse media screening
  • Supporting ongoing monitoring and updating client due diligence records
  • Escalating higher-risk matters to senior team members and MLROs
  • Participating in regular meetings with the wider team and MLROs
  • Supporting third-party payer and billing-related reviews
  • Assisting with wider ad hoc conflicts, AML and compliance matters

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
