Referment is working with an established regional law firm seeking a Senior Construction Associate.
This is a broad construction-law role combining contentious and non-contentious client work with supervision, team development and business development.
You will manage your own caseload and provide clear, commercially practical advice while helping junior lawyers and fee earners develop their technical capability. The position suits someone who enjoys remaining close to client work while taking meaningful responsibility for quality, team performance and the development of the practice.
The Role
- Manage and develop a construction-law caseload while supporting the team's financial objectives.
- Advise clients on contentious and non-contentious matters, including legal research, drafting and correspondence.
- Supervise junior lawyers and fee earners through coaching, technical guidance and file audits.
- Contribute to performance discussions, appraisals and the wider development of team capability.
- Maintain files in line with professional, quality and internal practice-management requirements.
- Support marketing and business development, including identifying opportunities for new work.
- Help improve systems, efficiency and consistency across the practice.

What We're Looking For
- An experienced legal professional with strong technical knowledge of construction law.
- Alternatively, a commercial litigator with substantial construction-disputes experience.
- Confidence managing a caseload and delivering practical, high-quality client advice.
- Experience supporting and developing less experienced colleagues.
- A collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to business development and practice improvement.
