We are currently looking for a Senior Construction Engineer to join our growing team, supporting the delivery of one of the UK's most exciting and nationally significant nuclear infrastructure programmes.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering complex mechanical construction work packages, working across procurement, manufacturing, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover. You will provide technical leadership, construction assurance, and supply chain oversight to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of mechanical construction work packages from procurement through to installation, commissioning, and handover.
- Provide technical expertise in constructability, quality, safety, risk management, and installation methodologies.
- Support procurement activities, supplier selection, contract management, and construction planning.
- Manage supply chain partners to deliver work safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Review designs and provide construction assurance to ensure compliance with project, contractual, and legislative requirements.
- Prepare and review key project documentation, including scopes, work specifications, estimates, schedules, and safety plans.
- Monitor programme performance, manage risks, and drive successful project outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, UKCA/CE marking requirements, and CDM obligations.
- Support Construction Managers and provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to project teams.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, stakeholders, and supply chain partners while ensuring SQEP requirements are maintained across assigned work packages.

Skills, Experience And Qualifications
- BTEC HNC in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent qualification) as a minimum.
- Demonstrable experience delivering complex mechanical engineering projects through the full project lifecycle, including Design, Procurement, Manufacturing, Installation, Testing, Commissioning and Handover and setting to work.
- Experience working with mechanical installation projects involving: Machinery and equipment installation, Pipework systems, HVAC systems and associated electrical systems.
- Strong understanding of construction delivery, supply chain management, quality assurance, and project controls.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, industry standards, and CDM requirements.
- Experience managing contractors and suppliers within highly regulated environments.
- Ability to review and challenge designs from a constructability and installation perspective.
- Strong planning, scheduling, and risk management capabilities.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop team members.
- Experience working within the nuclear sector or other highly regulated industries such as energy, defence, pharmaceutical, petrochemical, or major infrastructure.
- Knowledge of UKCA and CE marking requirements.
- Experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects or major project frameworks.
- Membership of a relevant professional institution or working towards professional accreditation.
