Job Description
Wood is recruiting for a Senior Construction Engineer to join our growing team. This is a key role supporting the successful delivery of major industrial, process, energy, and infrastructure projects from early opportunity development through to site execution.
The successful candidate will play a leading role in the proposals, estimates and bids, development of construction execution strategies, path of construction and methodologies, and support the execution of construction activities during project delivery. The role requires a practical construction professional who can seamlessly transition between office-based planning and site-based construction leadership.

Responsibilities
Tender and Bid Support
- Lead the development of construction execution strategies for proposals, tender submissions.
- Prepare construction methodologies, execution plans, schedules, logistics plans, and resource estimates.
- Support proposal teams with technical input during bid preparation and client presentations.
- Identify construction risks and opportunities and contribute to risk mitigation strategies.
- Review engineering deliverables to ensure construction considerations are incorporated at an early stage.
- Support supply chain management in technical and commercial bid evaluation for contractors and service providers submission

Project Delivery
- Develop and manage construction deliverables, construction workpacks, execution plans, and site delivery strategies.
- Coordinate construction activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
- Interface with engineering, procurement, subcontractors, and project management teams.
- Monitor construction progress and provide regular reporting on performance, risks, and mitigation actions.
- Support constructability reviews and value engineering initiatives.
Site Execution
- Act as a construction lead during project execution phases.
- Manage and supervise construction works on site, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
- Coordinate contractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary site teams.
- Resolve technical and construction issues to maintain project schedules.
- Participate in commissioning, start-up, and project handover activities where required.
- Ensure all site activities are carried out in accordance with company procedures and client requirements.

Essential
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or HNC/HND in Civil, Mechanical, Construction, or a relevant Engineering discipline.
- Significant experience in construction engineering within the energy, process, industrial, power, oil & gas, petrochemical, or related sectors.
- Proven experience supporting and developing tender and bid submissions.
- Strong understanding of construction planning, methodologies, and site execution practices.
- Experience managing construction activities on live project sites.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong working knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Desirable
- SMSTS, SSSTS, or equivalent construction safety qualification.
- Experience working within EPC/EPCM project environments.

- Comfortable working in both office and site-based environments.
- Willingness to travel and work on project sites as required.
