Senior Construction Manager

📍 Manchester
⏳ 12 Month Contract
đź•’ 40 Hours Per Week

An IR35 assessment for tax purposes is required for this engagement. In order to determine the Limited Company’s correct IR35 status, an individual Limited Company assessment will be required.

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Manager to lead and oversee major construction activities on a highly regulated project environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior construction professional with proven experience delivering complex new-build projects and managing multidisciplinary construction teams throughout the full project lifecycle.

The Role

As Senior Construction Manager, you will act as the primary technical authority for construction activities, ensuring all site works are delivered in accordance with approved designs, project requirements, and contractual obligations. You will work closely with project teams, contractors, stakeholders, and client representatives to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all onsite construction activities and teams.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Coordinate effectively with project managers, commercial teams, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Oversee construction planning, programme development, and progress reporting.
  • Manage construction assurance, quality, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Develop and implement construction phase plans, safe systems of work, and environmental management documentation.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders and supporting departments to ensure successful project execution.

Essential Experience & Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of construction contract delivery.
  • In-depth understanding of CDM Regulations.
  • Experience delivering major new build projects.
  • Strong knowledge of HSG65 principles.
  • Multi-disciplined project lifecycle experience from planning through to completion.

Desirable Experience

  • Nuclear new-build project experience.
  • Understanding of nuclear site licence requirements.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • IOSH Qualification

Desirable

  • NEBOSH
