The successful candidate will act as the principal construction authority, ensuring all works are delivered safely, compliantly, to the approved design, and in accordance with programme, budget and quality requirements.

This is a leadership role requiring extensive experience managing multidisciplinary construction teams, contractors and stakeholders through all phases of project delivery, from pre-construction planning through construction, testing, commissioning and handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all on-site construction activities.
  • Ensure all construction works are executed in accordance with approved designs, specifications and project requirements.
  • Manage and coordinate construction contractors and subcontractors.
  • Oversee construction, testing and commissioning activities to ensure programme milestones are achieved.
  • Develop and maintain construction execution strategies and delivery plans.
  • Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations, health & safety legislation and project governance requirements.
  • Produce and approve Construction Phase Plans, Safe Systems of Work, Environmental Management Plans and Pre-Construction Information.
  • Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Commercial Managers and Project Controls teams.
  • Provide accurate reporting on progress, resource requirements, risks and performance.
  • Manage construction logistics, site setup, welfare facilities, laydown areas and access arrangements.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement with clients, design authorities, operations teams and regulatory bodies.
  • Monitor contractor performance and ensure quality standards are achieved throughout delivery.
  • Drive continuous improvement, problem solving and conflict resolution across the project team.
  • Manage construction activities through project systems including CEMAR.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
