What you will be do:
- Fulfil the Client / Employer’s Representative role for allocated projects, ensuring Elgin’s SPV, governance, commercial and contractual obligations are actively managed from FID through COD and handover.
- Lead project and contract management on project-financed assets, coordinating lender processes including conditions precedent, drawdown evidence, lender technical adviser queries, lender reporting, waivers / consents and funding milestone submissions.
- Administer and manage high-value EPC, ICP and related project contracts, including notices, variations, claims, payment applications, completion milestones, liquidated damages, defects and close-out obligations.
- Maintain disciplined project controls across programme, budget, cash flow, risk, actions, decisions and change, ensuring transparent reporting to senior management, SPV governance bodies, lenders and investors.
- Act as the primary project coordination point between Elgin’s internal project team, finance, legal, procurement, engineering, construction, operations, route-to-market and external advisers, ensuring that all workstreams operate from one integrated delivery plan, one risk position and one set of decision requirements.
- Lead and manage multidisciplinary internal project teams within Elgin’s agreed delivery framework by setting priorities, clarifying accountabilities, managing dependencies, aligning workstreams to project milestones and escalating decisions in a timely and structured manner.
- Manage the relationship and reporting cadence with project finance lenders, equity investors, shareholder representatives, lender technical advisers and other key finance-facing stakeholders, including preparing and presenting clear, decision-ready updates for shareholder forums and related governance meetings.
- Oversee contractor, owner’s engineer and technical adviser interfaces to ensure delivery evidence, technical outputs and contractual positions support Elgin’s funding, governance and employer obligations.
- Proactively identify commercial, contractual, programme and financing risks, develop mitigation plans and ensure issues are escalated with clear options, recommendations and decision requirements.
- Support tendering, contract negotiation and commercial strategy by ensuring delivery arrangements are bankable, financeable, contractually robust and aligned with lender / investor expectations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
