About The Opportunity
Ellucian is seeking an experienced Senior Consultant to join our Professional Services team and help higher education institutions successfully transform through modern SaaS solutions. In this mission-critical role, you will partner directly with customers to implement and optimize Ellucian Student, helping institutions modernize their operations, accelerate adoption, and realize measurable value from their technology investments.
As a trusted advisor, you will combine deep Ellucian Student and higher education expertise with strong implementation and consulting capabilities. You will guide customers through complex implementations and upgrades, proactively address delivery challenges, and collaborate across Ellucian teams to deliver high-quality outcomes. You will also contribute to continuous improvement across our Professional Services organization by sharing expertise, mentoring consultants, and identifying opportunities to modernize implementation practices through data, automation, and AI-enabled approaches.
Where you will make an impact
- Lead and deliver high-quality implementation consulting services for Ellucian Student, taking accountability for assigned areas of service delivery and helping customers achieve successful implementation, adoption, and value realisation.
- Partner with higher education customers to understand their institutional objectives, business processes, operational challenges, and transformation priorities, translating those needs into the effective adoption of Banner Student.
- Guide customers through SaaS transformation initiatives, helping institutions modernise processes and adopt solutions that improve operational effectiveness and support student success.
- Collaborate closely with consulting teams, project leaders, product experts, and other internal stakeholders to align delivery activities, manage dependencies, and ensure customer and Ellucian project expectations are met or exceeded.
- Proactively identify implementation risks, delivery challenges, and barriers to customer success, applying structured problem-solving and root cause analysis to deliver practical and sustainable solutions.
- Apply strong delivery governance and Ellucian implementation methodologies to improve implementation quality, predictability, and time-to-value for customers.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to customer stakeholders at multiple levels, from executive and project leadership through functional and technical teams, providing clear recommendations and confidently guiding decisions.
- Drive innovative and transformative implementation strategies that improve customer adoption, solution effectiveness, and long-term value realisation.
- Continuously improve the customer experience by contributing to the development, use, and maintenance of implementation methodologies, services artifacts, tools, and repeatable best practices.
- Leverage AI-enabled capabilities where appropriate to improve implementation efficiency and support informed decision-making while maintaining appropriate human oversight.
- Consult with customers to improve operational performance, taking ownership of complex problems and executing solutions with precision, accountability, and professionalism.
- Share knowledge and implementation expertise across the Professional Services organisation, mentoring other consultants and helping strengthen team capabilities and delivery readiness.

What you will bring
- 5–8+ years of practical experience with Ellucian Student and the higher education sector, with strong knowledge of student administration processes and institutional operations.
- Experience with Curriculum, Finance, Statutory Returns, and Assessment & Progression processes is beneficial in supporting the breadth of customer requirements associated with Banner Student implementations.
- 3+ years of implementation and upgrade experience with Ellucian products or comparable enterprise ERP/SIS solutions, including experience supporting complex customer transformation initiatives.
- Strong consulting and product expertise relevant to Banner Student, with the ability to translate customer requirements into practical, scalable solutions.
- Experience working within enterprise SaaS, Cloud, ERP, or SIS implementation environments and an understanding of the practices required to support successful customer adoption and value realisation.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with executive stakeholders, project leaders, and functional and technical teams internally and externally.
- Demonstrated ability to assess delivery readiness, identify implementation risks, solve complex problems, and conduct effective root cause analysis.
- Experience developing, coaching, and mentoring consultants, with a willingness to share knowledge and contribute to broader team capability.
- Strong prioritisation and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple activities and competing priorities based on customer and business impact while meeting delivery commitments.
- A continuous-improvement mindset, with an interest in using delivery analytics, automation, and AI-enabled tools responsibly to improve implementation quality, efficiency, and customer outcomes.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across distributed and cross-functional teams while demonstrating accountability, sound judgment, and a strong customer focus.
- Ability to travel to customer locations as required to deliver consulting and implementation services in accordance with Ellucian's delivery methodology.
