The indirect tax transformation team works with a variety of organisations across all sectors. The business has been growing year on year and to seize the opportunities available in the market, the team requires new talent.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and ambitious individual to join EY’s specialist Indirect Tax Transformation team, with a focus on data services. This role will provide an opportunity to be involved in a fast growth part of the UKI Tax practice. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to work with significant multinational clients and to engage with our global EY network, providing a great opportunity to build and expand your corporate network.

We are looking for a Senior Consultant, a technology-focused professional with experience supporting tax technology and business transformation initiatives. The successful candidate will work as part of project teams delivering eInvoicing and digital reporting solutions, supporting requirements gathering, solution design, testing, and deployment activities.

Your key responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of eInvoicing and tax technology transformation projects.
  • Assist with business process analysis and requirements gathering workshops.
  • Document business and technical requirements, process flows, and solution specifications.
  • Support the implementation and testing of eInvoicing, eReporting, and tax compliance solutions.
  • Perform configuration, validation, and data analysis activities under the guidance of project leads.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT), defect management, deployment, and hypercare activities.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and assist in assessing impacts on client processes and systems.
  • Prepare project status reports, meeting materials, and client deliverables.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including tax, finance, IT, and external solution providers.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and development of team assets, methodologies, and accelerators.

Skills and attributes for success

What we look for

  • Understanding of eInvoicing, Continuous Transaction Controls (CTC), and digital reporting concepts.
  • Experience supporting ERP, tax technology, finance transformation, or compliance-related projects.
  • Experience with requirements gathering, process documentation, testing, and deployment activities.
  • Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, SAP DRC, Vertex, Pagero, EDICOM, PEPPOL, or similar technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Understanding of integrations, APIs, EDI, and middleware technologies.
  • Knowledge of VAT processes and tax data requirements.
  • Experience with data analytics and reporting tools.
  • Previous consulting experience.
  • Relevant ERP, tax technology, or project management certifications.
