Requirements

You’ll need to bring:

• An MSc or above in Fluvial Geomorphology plus relevant professional experience in a consultancy, regulatory or third sector environment; or a PhD in a relevant discipline plus relevant industry experience.
• Experience supporting the development and delivery of river restoration schemes across a range of river types and project stages.
• Excellent practical understanding of geomorphological forms, processes and sediment dynamics.
• Experience undertaking fieldwork, including restoration appraisal, fluvial audits, physical habitat surveys and sediment sampling.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills applied to geomorphological investigation and interpretation.
• Experience managing or coordinating project tasks and delivering work to agreed time, cost and quality standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Bonus Qualifications

It’s a bonus if you have:

• Experience managing small to medium-sized projects, including multidisciplinary projects.
• Experience supporting or mentoring junior colleagues.
• Awareness of UK legislation associated with water management and river restoration.
• Experience preparing or contributing to sediment management plans.
• Experience using HEC-RAS or Flood Modeller.
• Experience with sediment transport assessment or modelling.
• Familiarity with CDM requirements.
• Experience using AutoCAD, GIS or other spatial analysis software.
• Membership of a relevant professional body and/or working towards Chartered status.
