The Role - Help build the future of legal delivery

The legal services market is experiencing a period of significant change, driven by growing expectations, the acceleration of new technology including AI, and an evolving competitor marketplace. Our clients are looking for more efficient, data-led, and truly innovative approaches to delivering legal services, alongside greater transparency, consistency, and commercial value.

Dentons Helix is Dentons' innovative, market-leading premium managed legal service. We believe we are the future of legal delivery in the areas in which we operate: bringing the quality, reach, and specialist expertise of the world's largest law firm together with dedicated legal teams, legal operations, data, technology, and continuous improvement. We help in-house legal teams solve their most pressing problems by deploying a tried-and-tested combination of the right people, effective processes, and a wide gamut of technologies. Through ring-fenced teams and a robust delivery model, Helix enables clients to manage complex business-as-usual legal work with greater speed, transparency, consistency, and commercial value.

This is an exceptional opportunity to join Helix at an exciting stage of growth. As a Senior Consultant, you will take a visible, hands-on role in developing and improving innovative legal-delivery solutions, while working with leading multinational and UK-listed consumer, retail, technology, and real-estate businesses, including FTSE 100 companies and equivalent global blue-chip organizations. You will work closely with the Helix Management Team, clients, Partners, Associates, and multidisciplinary teams across Dentons. There is real scope to make an impact, take ownership early, and grow with the business as Helix continues to expand. You will join a young, highly motivated, and collaborative team that takes its work seriously while enjoying building something ambitious together.

Aside from evolving and improving our services, the role focuses on the operational management of legal teams and the strategic delivery of legal services. A legal qualification is not required; however, a genuine interest in the legal-services market and a clear understanding of what Helix does are essential. This is a London-focused role. Collaboration with colleagues and clients is central to how Helix operates, so the successful candidate will be expected to work from the London office for part of the week, with flexibility around client commitments and team needs.

What success looks like

Within your first 12 months, you will have:

  • Led a meaningful client improvement initiative from problem definition to measurable outcome.
  • Helped develop or launch a reusable Helix solution, playbook, process, or technology-enabled service.
  • Taken on ownership for a client relationship.
  • Built trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders.
  • Made a visible contribution to the development of junior colleagues and team cohesion.
  • Helped shape the next stage of Helix’s growth and direction.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead client-facing legal delivery and improvement engagements, applying sound judgment to ensure high-quality, efficient, and commercially sustainable service delivery.
  • Build trusted, credible client relationships; lead governance meetings, communicate progress with clarity, and manage issues proactively through to resolution.
  • Diagnose client and delivery challenges, turning ambiguity into practical, well-structured recommendations through rigorous problem-solving, stakeholder engagement, market insight, and data. Take ownership from initial diagnosis through implementation, ensuring issues are actively managed through to resolution.
  • Develop compelling service propositions and proposal responses, clearly defining the client need, value proposition, scope, delivery approach, commercial model, and measures of success.
  • Design practical, scalable operating models, processes, governance, resourcing, and performance-management approaches. Turn successful approaches into reusable Helix playbooks, tools, technology solutions, and operating models.
  • Translate strategic concepts into clear implementation plans, workplans, tools, and delivery materials, and drive execution through to measurable outcomes.
  • Lead workshops, projects, and workstreams with confidence; bring senior stakeholders to decisions through clear, concise, and well-evidenced recommendations.
  • Help test and apply emerging AI and legal-delivery technologies in live client environments.
  • Work across people, process, technology, and data to identify, prioritize, and implement continuous-improvement opportunities; remain close to the technology market and translate relevant developments into practical client value.
  • Lead or materially contribute to client onboarding, pilots, and service launches.
  • Develop and interpret client, operational, and financial reporting, including service performance, legal insights, margin, and utilisation; convert data into clear actions and recommendations.
  • Contribute actively to managing and developing the Helix team, including coaching and line managing junior colleagues, strengthening team capability and cohesion, and helping shape the team's priorities and direction.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Required Experience, Skills, and Attributes

  • An outstanding record of analytical and structured problem-solving: you can take ambiguous issues, think on your feet, form a sound view quickly, and develop practical, client-ready solutions.
  • Substantial relevant experience (typically five or more years) in legal operations, management consulting, professional-services transformation, complex operational service delivery, or a closely comparable environment.
  • Demonstrable operational experience designing, improving, or implementing services, processes, and/or target operating models, rather than solely operating an established process.
  • Strong project and workstream leadership, with evidence of planning and delivering complex initiatives involving multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, and clear outcomes.
  • Confidence analyzing operational and financial data, using it to form clear insights and recommendations; advanced Excel skills are expected.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to understand client needs, connect them to a credible value proposition, and act with professional judgment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication in English, including the ability to structure complex information, develop high-quality PowerPoint materials, and present clearly, concisely, and with impact.
  • Strong client-management and influencing skills, with the confidence, maturity, and commercial judgment to build trust, challenge constructively, and work effectively with senior stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to facilitate workshops, lead productive conversations, and adapt confidently in the moment when working with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
  • A strong interest in technology, automation, AI, and data, with the curiosity to understand the technology landscape and the practical judgment to apply it to legal-delivery challenges. Experience and a more detailed understanding of current genAI applications and their deployment are considered very advantageous.
  • A proactive, self-starting, and highly organized approach. You take ownership, maintain razor-sharp attention to detail, and consistently follow through on commitments in a fast-paced, client-led environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, as well as other tools in the Microsoft Office suite, together with confidence using technology to improve how work is delivered.
  • Experience coaching, developing, or managing junior colleagues, with enthusiasm for actively shaping team cohesion, capability, and Helix's direction of travel.
  • A university degree (2:1 or above) is preferred. Equivalent professional experience and a strong track record of delivery will also be considered.
