Job Title: Senior Consultant with Private Equity Experience

Location: London (hybrid)
Salary: Up to £95,000 plus benefits

We are looking for an experienced Senior Consultant with strong Private Equity experience to join a growing Professional Services team.

This is a senior consulting position focused on delivering complex projects and programmes for leading Private Equity and Private Markets clients. The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of Private Equity middle office operations, investment processes, portfolio monitoring, data flows and technology platforms, combined with proven consulting and project delivery experience.

Direct experience working with Private Equity clients is highly desirable and candidates without relevant Private Equity or Private Markets experience are unlikely to be suitable. You will take ownership of complex engagements, lead client interactions, manage workstreams and provide subject-matter expertise across a range of consulting projects. You will also play an important role in developing the Middle Office practice, supporting business development and mentoring junior team members.

The role requires someone who can operate confidently with senior stakeholders, balance hands-on analysis with strategic thinking, and act as a trusted advisor to Private Equity clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple consulting engagements simultaneously, taking senior responsibility for project delivery.
  • Act as a senior project lead, applying strong Private Equity and Middle Office subject-matter expertise across client engagements.
  • Lead client meetings, including Steering Committees, project updates and senior stakeholder sessions.
  • Manage project workstreams, ensuring delivery against agreed scope, timelines and budgets.
  • Provide specialist expertise across Private Equity middle office operations, investment management processes, portfolio monitoring and related technology solutions.
  • Support specialist engagements including vendor selection, operational reviews, process improvement and systems implementation.
  • Analyse complex business processes, data flows and operating models to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Translate client requirements into practical solutions and support the successful implementation of new processes and systems.
  • Build strong relationships with Private Equity clients and operate confidently alongside senior client stakeholders.
  • Mentor and coach junior consultants, supporting their professional development and progression.
  • Contribute to performance management and the development of team capability.
  • Support the continued development of the Middle Office practice, including methodologies, best practice and knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute to business development activities, including proposals, pitch materials and identifying new client opportunities.
  • Support commercial discussions, including project extensions, scope changes and rate negotiations.
  • Manage project budgets effectively and maintain accurate time and financial records.
  • Contribute to internal initiatives designed to improve consulting delivery standards and overall practice performance.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
