Major Programmes PMO Transformation

Our PMO Solution business sits as part of Major Programmes within our Human Capital practice – the world’s leading people and HR transformation business. As part of a practice that brings leading-edge tooling, research and analytics expertise together with deep industry knowledge, you’ll help to deliver innovative and complex transformation programmes for our clients.

PMO Centre of Excellence

The continued success of our PMO Centre of Excellence (CoE) team means that we are looking to grow further by recruiting PMO specialists with experience in delivering transformation and managed services across all industries with the right skill set and attitude towards performance, growth, and development.

The world has never before faced such a complex number of environmental, social, and economic challenges, and a new way of delivering transformation programmes is needed to respond to these. Our market-leading transformation approach will challenge conventional thinking around the delivery of programmes, using a multi-disciplinary capability to help our clients deliver their most critical and demanding issues while reinforcing Deloitte’s commitment to purpose-led change.

Our practice comprises a blend of those who have worked previously in industry (in both technical and non-technical roles) and those who have prior consulting experience. The strength and value that our PMO CoE brings to our clients and Deloitte is a result of our collectively diverse and highly relevant industry insights and experience; the complexity of challenges our clients face requires us to leverage this diverse range of skillsets and experiences.

This team is focused on the technical delivery of new solutions that solve complex challenges for clients. You will have responsibility for:

  • Assisting with the design, implementation, and development of Project, Programme or Portfolio Management Offices;
  • Developing and owning plans and monitoring critical paths through understanding the inter-dependencies between workstreams;
  • Drafting, reviewing, and ongoing management of project progress reports and running risk / issue / action / dependency management processes and financial control processes in relation to the programme, project, or initiative;
  • Preparing, reviewing, and owning project / programme financial reports and undertaking financial modelling to prepare budgets and business cases;
  • Preparing agendas and materials to support project, programme, and portfolio level governance forums;
  • Managing and maintaining project assets ensuring documentation is kept up to date and facilitating effective sharing and communication;
  • Mentoring and managing less experienced members of the team.
  • Supporting the growth of client relationships, identifying new opportunities within both existing and new clients, and supporting proposals to win work.
  • Supporting the development of our propositions, solutions, and methods, and industry points of view.

Connect to your skills and professional experience

To qualify for the role, you must have experience of:

  • Experience of assisting with the design and development of a Project, Programme or Portfolio Management Office;
  • Previous experience of supporting or managing delivery of projects or programmes, either within industry or with a consultancy;
  • Development of project plans across workstreams and management of critical paths;
  • Understanding and experience of project management methodologies (example Prince 2 or Agile);
  • Knowledge of the current market conditions;
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Additional desirable experience includes:

  • Effectively managed dependencies in a project;
  • Mentoring and managing others in a project team;
  • Progress reporting and risk management;
  • Preparation of programme financial reports as part of a PMO;
  • Financial modelling, e.g., preparation of budgets and business cases;
  • Experience of developing client relationships and new opportunities;
  • Development of appropriate solutions, methods, and tools;
  • Prince 2 Foundation and Practitioner Certified;
  • SC (Security Check) Clearance
