Senior Consultant – Stakeholder Engagement & Communications
£45k - £55k + 10% Bonus
My client is a highly respected, independent and employee-owned planning, design and strategic communications consultancy, working on some of the UK’s most prestigious development and infrastructure projects. They are looking for an experienced Senior Consultant ( 3 years + ) to join their communications team and play a leading role in delivering stakeholder engagement, public consultation and strategic communications programmes across a diverse portfolio.
You’ll work across residential, renewable energy, commercial and mixed-use developments, helping clients navigate complex planning and engagement challenges and build meaningful relationships with communities, stakeholders and decision-makers.
The role
You will work closely with clients, colleagues, planning consultants and wider multidisciplinary teams to develop and deliver effective engagement strategies from project inception through to planning submission. Your responsibilities will include:

- Developing stakeholder engagement strategies, including political analysis, stakeholder mapping and research.
- Producing high-quality communications materials, including consultation leaflets, newsletters, exhibition boards, stakeholder correspondence, website content and digital communications.
- Working with graphic designers, planning consultants and project teams to deliver engaging consultation materials.
- Analysing consultation feedback and preparing reports, including Statements of Community Involvement and consultation summaries.
- Organising and coordinating public consultation events, exhibitions and stakeholder meetings.
- Attending and supporting public exhibitions and community engagement events across the UK.
- Building strong relationships with clients, local authorities, elected representatives and key stakeholders.

About you
We’re looking for someone with:
- A university degree at 2:1 or above (or equivalent).
- Experience in a consultancy or an in-house communications, public affairs, planning or stakeholder engagement role.
- Ideally, experience within the built environment, infrastructure or renewable energy sectors.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, engaging and accurate content.
