Job Description

Join a global professional services business helping clients shape logistics, infrastructure, and operational environments for long-term growth and transformation.

The Role

This role will be tasked with developing and growing the Supply Chain Design & Operation vertical. The focus is on helping clients shape logistics and supply chain environments through master-planning, operational design, and strategic development of assets, facilities, and clusters. The successful candidate will combine strong design or master-planning capability with a broader systems view, enabling them to connect land use, operations, market feasibility, policy, and commercial strategy to create compelling client solutions and support long-term team growth. The role also requires a consulting mindset: working across multidisciplinary teams, contributing to proposition development, and helping clients translate complex supply chain and operational challenges into practical, deliverable strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Development of the Supply Chain Design & Operation offer across logistics and supply chain consulting, helping define the proposition, methodologies, and priority growth opportunities.
  • Identify and progress priority client opportunities, supporting business development, proposals, bids, and early-stage delivery as the vertical grows.
  • Advise clients on master-planning, operational design, and site or network concepts that support logistics and supply chain performance.
  • Build, maintain, and strengthen client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on supply chain design, operational strategy, and infrastructure-led transformation.
  • Lead or contribute to discrete workstreams within larger engagements, managing activity within scope, timeline, and budget while maintaining high-quality client deliverables.
  • Assess how facilities, land use, infrastructure, and operational models can be designed to support future growth, tenant clustering, and commercial outcomes.
  • Translate technical and spatial design questions into wider strategic considerations including market feasibility, business case development, regulatory context, and implementation pathways.
  • Act as the central point of integration across design, policy, regulatory, commercial, and sector specialists to create joined-up client solutions, working effectively in cross-functional teams across advisory, people, and technology disciplines.
  • Help define the proposition, methods, and capability foundations needed to scale the vertical over time.
  • Contribute as a seller-doer, combining client development activity with high-quality advisory input, thought leadership, and market engagement to support the growth of the practice.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Key Skills & Experience Required

We are looking for someone with strong systems thinking and enough breadth to work beyond a purely technical master-planning brief. This person should be able to understand how design decisions influence operations, commercial outcomes, policy requirements, and client growth ambitions. They will be comfortable navigating ambiguity, shaping opportunities in an emerging space, and helping define how this vertical develops in the market. They should also be a strong communicator and collaborative problem-solver, able to build credibility with senior stakeholders and work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

Experience And Background

  • Experience in management consulting, master-planning, logistics infrastructure, industrial development, operational design, or commercial leadership within relevant operational environments. Experience gained in either consulting or industry environments would be valuable.
  • Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain operations, with exposure to master-planning, site utilization, network design, or operational strategy.
  • Understanding of end-to-end supply chain issues and how network design, operational planning, facility strategy, and transformation initiatives can improve performance would be advantageous.
  • Ability to connect technical design thinking with commercial value, policy context, and implementation considerations.
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders on complex development, infrastructure, or operational transformation challenges.
  • Ability to work across multiple disciplines and bring together contributors from advisory, technical, and sector teams.
  • Track record of supporting business development, proposition building, or the growth of a new service line would be highly valuable.
  • Exposure to digital or technology-enabled improvement in supply chain and operations, such as analytics, automation, or planning tools, would be beneficial where relevant to the brief, but is not essential.
