What we are looking for
A Senior Consultant (Sustainability Communications) with a solid foundation in Communications. You will champion client success by leading dynamic project teams, executing powerful impact campaigns across diverse sectors and contribute to our continued growth.
About us
Here at Seismic we have a two-part vision: to help 10 million people join the shift by 2030 and to be the best place we have ever worked.
We know that’s an ambitious vision. That means challenging ourselves and our clients every day, striving for growth, and delivering real impact. You can see more about our mission in our CEO’s TEDx talk, “The purpose of profit: the business of securing a sustainable future.”
We foster a culture of continuous learning and mutual support, ensuring every changemaker feels empowered to grow and contribute their best.
We are not just talking about change; we are actively driving it. We ourselves are a B Corp and our team of B Corp, Net Zero, Reporting and Sustainability Comms experts collaborate to deliver measurable impact for clients ranging from innovative SMEs to global corporations. You can read some of their stories here.
We’re a close-knit team, working together towards a shared vision. All that’s missing is you!
The role and its responsibilities
We are looking for a Senior Communications Consultant to act as a strategic powerhouse within our Comms team. You won't just be executing tasks; you will be owning project delivery, driving the commercial success of the service line, and leading the professional growth of our consultants. The exact role definition will be dependent on the desire, capability, and experiences of the right person. Key responsibilities are likely to include:
- Leading the end-to-end delivery of integrated sustainability communications for clients, from facilitating senior leadership messaging workshops to overseeing the production of inspiring Impact Reports and multi-channel creative content.
- Drive our commercial growth by independently winning new business and expanding our work with clients, taking ownership of results, and acts as a key catalyst to catapult our business forward.
- Supporting a high-performance comms team, upskilling other team members, and fostering a culture of continuous learning to ensure our communications delivery remains best-in-class.
- Leading service development and process improvement within our communications service line to ensure our work remains high quality, impact, and outcome focused, and in line with the needs of our clients.
- Helping clients navigate the complex landscape of sustainability communications, ensuring their narratives are ambitious, evidence-based, and transparent.
- Growing the brand recognition of Seismic’s comms work through thought leadership and personal/team profile-building.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About you
You believe that humanity and businesses need to make a seismic shift in the right direction and want to apply your communications capabilities to help make that happen. At the same time, you want to work in a friendly, collaborative, and empathetic team who are delivering impactful projects for high-profile clients. You will especially enjoy working at Seismic if you have a growth mindset and are comfortable with uncertainty, as we are a fast-growing, agile, and evolving business.
To be successful in this role, you would need the following attributes:
- Extensive experience in sustainability communications within an agency or high-growth corporate environment, with a track record of leading complex projects.
- Proven ability to manage and mentor teams, driving both professional growth and high-quality project outcomes.
- You are passionate about impact.
- Commercial drive and natural ability to identify and develop solutions to client challenges.
- You are a master copywriter who can distill complex information into engaging content, and understand how to project manage a design process.
- Experience of helping organisations deliver communications across sustainability topics (e.g., B Corp, Net Zero, DEI) is essential, and experience of any ESG reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI) would be advantageous.
Importantly, you love client work and also working with teammates to build something great. You like a laugh but are not afraid to graft. You have plenty to offer, and know you have even more to learn.
You are proactive, have a keen eye for detail, and enjoy juggling multiple projects and priorities and enjoy just the right amount of time pressure to help keep productive and focused. You are a ‘people person’ with a knack for building relationships.
You are more excited by the opportunities of working for a young, fast-growing, ever-evolving, purpose-driven business than for a large corporate.
