I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

You Will Need:
- 2–4 years’ recruitment experience, ideally within technology, digital, data, product or an adjacent specialist market.
- A genuine appetite for business development and building your own client relationships rather than relying purely on existing vacancies.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the confidence to engage with candidates, hiring managers and senior stakeholders.
- Curiosity about your chosen market - you’ll be encouraged to understand the industry, follow trends, attend events and become an expert.
- Ambition and self-belief. You’ll have support around you, but you’ll also have the freedom to take ownership of your desk and your results.
Why You’ll Love It:
- 4.5★ Glassdoor rating - backed by strong internal feedback on culture, leadership and management.
- B Corp certified and award-winning, with a genuine commitment to doing recruitment better for candidates, clients and employees.
- Uncapped earning potential: top billers regularly earn £80K–£120K+.
- Transparent commission and progression, with a clear route from Consultant through to Lead based on merit, not tenure.
- 25 days’ holiday + bank holidays, with the option to buy or sell holiday and increases with service.
- A personal Learning & Development budget for courses, conferences and coaching.
- Private healthcare, enhanced parental leave and personal days.
- Company trips in the UK and overseas, plus company-funded monthly socials.
- A genuine high-trust culture: you’re trusted to manage your desk without someone watching your activity all day.
- Leadership that has made a clear management pledge: listen without judgement, welcome feedback, communicate transparently, provide regular 1-to-1s and actively support your career development.
