This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified actuary with a strong background in life insurance capital and risk management to join our Insurance Actuarial & Longevity (IAL) team. Working alongside a highly regarded team of consultants, you will help deliver complex projects for life insurance clients while contributing to the continued growth and development of our capital and risk consulting capabilities.

As a Senior Consulting Actuary, you will work with a diverse client base on a wide range of strategic and regulatory initiatives, providing expert advice and innovative solutions that help clients navigate an evolving market landscape. You will also play an important role in developing client relationships, supporting business growth and mentoring junior colleagues.

A snapshot of your day:

  • Lead and deliver client projects across capital, risk and regulatory consulting engagements.
  • Support life insurance clients with risk-based capital modelling, model validation and capital management activities.
  • Work on regulatory applications, business transfer projects and M&A-related assignments.
  • Help modernise actuarial processes through the application of digital tools, automation and innovative modelling techniques.
  • Build strong relationships with client stakeholders and act as a trusted adviser.
  • Develop project scopes, manage delivery timelines and ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Contribute to research, thought leadership and the development of new client propositions.
  • Support business development activities by identifying opportunities and building market presence.
  • Develop and maintain a professional network across the life insurance sector.
  • Participate in industry conferences and events, helping to raise the profile of the IAL team.
  • Coach, mentor and support more junior colleagues, contributing to a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the wider consulting business to deliver integrated client solutions.

We would love to hear from you if you have:

  • Qualified Actuary status with at least three years' post-qualification experience gained within a life insurer or consultancy.
  • Strong knowledge of Solvency UK and related regulatory frameworks such as Solvency II and Bermuda.
  • Experience developing, reviewing or validating risk-based capital models and calibration methodologies.
  • Knowledge of capital management and risk management frameworks within the life insurance sector.
  • Experience applying technology and digital solutions to enhance modelling and actuarial processes.
  • Programming experience in languages such as Python or R would be advantageous.
  • A strong understanding of current and emerging topics affecting life insurers.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Experience managing projects and delivering high-quality client outcomes.
  • A collaborative mindset and a passion for supporting the development of others.
