About The Role
Are you passionate about telling stories and delivering powerful content that builds understanding, inspires action, and drives change?
Do you have the skills, knowledge, and experience to lead WWT’s content team to deliver engaging and creative content that speaks to a wide range of audiences?
This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-respected organization with an ambitious mission to restore wetlands and inspire others to value and protect these incredible habitats. This role will put content right at the core of WWT’s communications and engagement activity, telling measurably impactful stories of wetlands and the work WWT does to unlock their superpowers.
Based in the Communications team, the Senior Content Manager will lead the development of a new content strategy for WWT, designed to elevate WWT’s voice, build brand awareness, and deepen engagement with our visitors, supporters, and partners. Leading a talented and creative team of content creators, you’ll work with colleagues from conservation teams to wetland centre staff and volunteers, to showcase the wonder of wetlands and the impact of WWT’s work across the UK and beyond.
You’ll have proven experience of developing successful content strategies that deliver high-quality, engaging, and audience-focused content. You’ll understand how to optimize and enhance dynamic content plans that reach a range of audiences and support ambitious communications and campaign objectives. With an eye for a good story, you’ll bring our projects, our science, and our work to life, and put wetlands at the heart of the conservation debate.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
