AEO Specialist | Financial Services

📍 Location: Mayfair (Hybrid)
đŸ’· Salary: ÂŁ45k-50k pro rata
📅 Contract: 6-month Fixed-Term Contract

Answer Engine Optimisation is changing the way brands are discovered and this is a rare opportunity to take ownership of it from the inside.

We’re working with a well-established, high-profile financial services business that is looking for an AEO Specialist to take responsibility for the quality, governance and evolution of its content as the search landscape shifts towards AI.

This is not a traditional content-writing role. It’s an opportunity for someone with strong editorial judgement, technical understanding and regulatory awareness to set the standard, challenge what doesn’t meet it, and help shape how the business performs across AI-powered search.

What you'll be doing

You’ll own and continuously develop the organisation’s AEO Content Standard, ensuring content consistently meets a high bar before reaching Compliance. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Quality-assuring service pages, FAQs, case studies and news content
  • Reviewing statistics, sources, quotes, risk warnings and regulatory wording
  • Ensuring Article and BreadcrumbList JSON-LD/schema markup is implemented correctly
  • Personally editing high-profile and higher-risk content
  • Leading the AEO retrofit of an existing case study library
  • Prioritising, managing and measuring content improvement programmes
  • Acting as the internal point of expertise for AEO and content standards
  • Working closely with Marketing, Publishing, Technical and Compliance teams
  • Challenging content, including AI-generated copy, where it falls short of the required standard

What we're looking for

We’re looking for someone who combines AEO expertise with exceptional editorial judgement. You’ll ideally have:

  • Proven experience in AEO, AI search optimisation or structured content
  • A solid working knowledge of schema markup and JSON-LD
  • Experience quality-assuring content created by others
  • The confidence to challenge contributors and senior stakeholders when necessary
  • A strong understanding of FCA financial promotion requirements and Consumer Duty
  • Experience managing content standards and workflows across multiple contributors
  • Previous experience within financial services or another regulated environment would be highly advantageous
