Job Opportunity: Senior Content Marketer, SEO
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Content Marketer, SEO based in the United Kingdom.
This is a writing-first opportunity for an experienced content marketer who combines exceptional editorial craft with deep SEO expertise.
- You’ll create and optimize high-quality content that performs in both traditional search and emerging AI-powered discovery environments.
- The role covers research, keyword strategy, content creation, optimization, editorial review, and performance analysis.
- You’ll work across B2B SaaS accounts, developing content that reflects a genuine understanding of products, audiences, and business goals.
- Alongside your own writing, you’ll guide freelance contributors and take ownership of content quality across assigned accounts.
- You’ll collaborate closely with strategists and customer teams while communicating directly with stakeholders and contributing strategic recommendations.

Accountabilities
- Write high-quality, search-focused content including blog posts, guides, and landing pages, integrating keyword research, search intent, on-page SEO, and strong editorial standards.
- Review all content produced for assigned accounts, including work created by freelancers or supported by AI, ensuring it meets quality, strategic, brand, and customer expectations.
- Refresh and optimize existing content to improve rankings, engagement, visibility, and performance across traditional search and AI-powered discovery.
- Analyze underperforming content using tools such as GA4, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, and related platforms, identifying root causes and prioritizing actionable improvements.
- Develop clear content briefs and help manage freelance writers, ensuring contributors understand customer requirements, brand guidelines, SEO objectives, and quality expectations.
- Maintain content calendars, coordinate contributors and deadlines, and manage multiple accounts without compromising quality or delivery schedules.
- Communicate directly with customers regarding deliverables, timelines, revisions, and content recommendations, participating in calls as a trusted content expert.
- Apply customer feedback thoroughly and consistently, maintaining relevant documentation so recurring feedback is addressed proactively.
- Contribute to performance reporting by helping communicate what content was delivered, how it is performing, and what insights can inform future work.
- Use AI tools responsibly to improve efficiency and effectiveness while applying independent editorial judgment and ensuring AI-assisted content reaches publication quality.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of AI-assisted content workflows by testing approaches on real projects and sharing practical learnings.
- Participate in internal knowledge-sharing, team initiatives, and continuous improvement activities.

Requirements
- 4–6 years of professional experience in content marketing, including at least 2 years working with B2B SaaS content; agency experience is advantageous.
- Exceptional writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, precise, publication-ready content requiring minimal revision.
- Strong editorial judgment and the ability to assess, improve, and explain the strengths and weaknesses of other writers’ work.
- Deep knowledge of SEO, including keyword research, search intent, on-page optimization, content audits, competitive analysis, and diagnosing ranking challenges.
- Understanding of Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and how AI-driven search experiences are changing content discovery and visibility.
- Hands-on familiarity with SEO and analytics platforms such as GA4, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, Clearscope, or equivalent tools.
- Experience briefing, editing, coordinating, or managing freelance writers or other content contributors.
- Strong customer communication skills, with the ability to build trust through clear, responsive, and reliable communication.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple accounts, contributors, projects, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong AI fluency, including responsible use of AI tools, effective editing of AI-assisted drafts, and awareness of emerging AI-content best practices.
- Genuine technical curiosity and the ability to learn complex software products, markets, and business models quickly enough to write about them with authority.
- Ownership mentality, adaptability, initiative, and confidence working through ambiguity while identifying and communicating potential issues early.
