Job Title: Senior Content Services Operator

Join MPS as a Senior Content Services Operator and lead the successful delivery of theatrical and downstream content services, overseeing complex projects from inception to completion. Working closely with internal teams, clients, and external partners, you'll drive operational excellence, optimise workflows, provide technical leadership, and ensure all deliverables meet the highest industry standards. You'll play a key role in developing team capability, resolving technical challenges, and ensuring the timely, seamless fulfilment of client requirements while continually driving quality and innovation.
What You’ll Do
Technical Operations
- Lead, develop and work as part of a team of Content Services Operators to deliver the highest standards of theatrical and downstream output for our clients.
- Regularly evaluate workflows, processes and operations to improve standards of work, quality of delivery and cross-department collaboration.
- Oversee the successful completion of non-standard and complex projects providing support and input where necessary. This can range from working on daily tasked orders to helping the business with tactical decisions and planning.
- Able to both create and train the team on deliverables and mezzanine files such as, but not limited to:
- A wide variety of Digital Cinema Packages (DCPs): Subtitled, Dubbed, 5.1, 7.1, Atmos etc. Both SMPTE and Interop as well as DVis and Barco HDR packages
- Downstream deliverables as well as internal and external reference and approval files
- Censorship edits
- Audio edits and conforms
- Having an in-depth knowledge of IMF workflows and specifications.
- Lead technical validation and troubleshooting providing coaching and feedback where necessary.
- Perform spot checks, technical validation on internal and external content and perform short form QCs if needed
People Management
- Leading and coaching the Content Services Team, focusing on developing team members’ soft and hard skills with a goal of elevating performance through active and actionable feedback.
- Foster a culture of openness, feedback and communication at all levels by both providing and seeking regular feedback from colleagues, peers and employees.
- Identify current and future training and growth opportunities within the team and other members of the production teams and facilitate cross training where appropriate.

Planning & Communication
- Act as a primary contact for Account Managers and other departments with encoding enquiries.
- Foster inter-departmental collaboration, planning and problem solving through open dialogue and feedback
- Working closely with the Mastering Manager and Content Services Operators to ensure that projects are delivered on time.
- Representing the department in internal meetings and maintaining the team Rota.
What You’ll Bring
- 3+ Years experience in a high volume DCP / Downstream deliverable creation environment
- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience

Qualifications/Experience
- In depth knowledge of theatrical and downstream encoding, best practice and standards
- In depth knowledge of video and audio codecs and their appropriate uses
- In depth knowledge of command line tools and basic scripting
- In depth knowledge of frame rate and colour space conversions
- Aptitude for Project Management & Capacity Planning
- Excellent communication with clients and stakeholders to efficiently resolve technical and validation issues as well as advice on best practices and workflow queries
- Ability to explain complex technical terminology in an easy-to-understand way
