Job Title: Senior Contract Advisor
Location: Kingston upon Thames 3/2 hybrid
Contract: Initially 12 Months
IR35 Status: Outside IR35
Project: Offshore Wind Bid Support
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Contract Advisor to provide contractual support during the commercial and business acquisition phases of offshore wind projects. The successful candidate will analyse, draft, review, and negotiate client contracts, partnership agreements, vendor agreements, and subcontractor contracts in line with company procedures and guidelines.
You will be responsible for identifying and mitigating contractual risks, developing effective contract strategies, and driving favourable commercial outcomes while maximising opportunities throughout the negotiation process.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate all contract management activities, ensuring contractual requirements are properly addressed.
- Review, draft, and negotiate contractual documents with clients, partners, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Identify appropriate contractual solutions and contribute to defining an optimal risk profile for the business.
- Support the Commercial Function in conducting contract risk assessments in line with company methodologies and guidelines.
- Manage resources involved in contract management activities and support development of professional competencies and staffing requirements.
- Ensure compliance with contract management guidelines and standards.
- Produce and deliver contract management reports to relevant internal stakeholders.
- Capture and share lessons learned and best practices from contract management activities.
- Ensure contractual risks and obligations are appropriately flowed down from client contracts to subcontractor and supplier agreements.
- Provide contractual support during negotiations relating to loans, bank guarantees, parent company guarantees, indemnity letters, and sureties.
- Support the Project Contract Manager where required.
- Review applicable regulatory requirements.
- Review, update, and maintain partner agreements throughout project development.
- Coordinate contractual documentation filing and organise internal contract management handover meetings.
- Support legal teams in the management of disputes and litigation-related activities when required.

Requirements
- Proven experience in a similar Contract Advisor role, ideally supporting the commercial phase of offshore wind projects.
- Law degree or equivalent qualification.
- Strong professional English writing and communication skills.
- Extensive knowledge of contract law, partnership agreements, and industry-standard contractual frameworks including:
- LOGIC
- FIDIC
- Incoterms
- Common Law and Civil Law systems
- Good understanding of EPC contracts and offshore energy project delivery, including:
- Platform components
- Offshore installations
- Subsea field developments
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify, assess, and mitigate contractual risks.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to balance short and long-term business objectives while adapting to changing market and project requirements.
