Senior Contract Manager – East Midlands, UK

CLIENT

Linum Consult is recruiting on behalf of a leading international transportation and infrastructure organisation for a Senior Contract Manager to join its UK team based in the East Midlands.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Contract Management professional to play a key role on major rail programmes, operating within complex consortium and joint venture environments whilst influencing commercial strategy, risk management and project performance.

Working closely with project leadership, you will be responsible for driving proactive contract and claims management activities across the project lifecycle, ensuring contractual obligations are effectively managed whilst supporting successful project delivery.

The Role

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the development and implementation of project-specific contract and claims management strategies
  • Providing commercial and contractual guidance to project teams and senior stakeholders
  • Driving proactive risk identification, mitigation and opportunity management
  • Managing contractual correspondence, notices, variations, extensions of time and claims
  • Supporting consortium and joint venture contractual arrangements
  • Monitoring contractual compliance against project milestones and obligations
  • Establishing and maintaining commercial governance processes and procedures
  • Supporting dispute avoidance and commercial resolution activities
  • Coaching and mentoring junior Contract Management professionals

About You

We are seeking an experienced Contract Management professional with a strong background in rail, transportation, infrastructure or major civil engineering projects.

You will ideally possess:

  • Significant experience in Contract Management and Claims Management on major projects
  • Experience working within consortium and/or joint venture environments
  • Strong knowledge of contractual risk management, variations, claims and dispute resolution
  • Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project financial performance
  • Experience working under NEC, FIDIC or other major forms of contract
  • Degree qualification in Law, Engineering, Finance, Economics, Business or a related discipline
