Senior Contracts and Compliance Manager

POSITION
Job Title: Senior Contracts and Compliance Manager
Location: Remote, UK
Department: Legal
Reports to: VP Deputy General Counsel, with a dotted line to the General Counsel and the Chief Executive Officer for compliance aspects of the role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Commercial Contracting (approximately 70%)
- Independently lead and close negotiations on a high volume of complex agreements — primarily MSAs and SOWs, but also vendor and partnership agreements — on Mood's standard forms and on the other party's paper.
- Identify legal, commercial and operational risk; escalate where required under the company's business rules.
- Maintain and update contract templates for EMEA and APAC in English and local language, as needed, and drive process automation and simplification, including through AI tools.
- Track open matters in Smartsheet or equivalent for reporting; deliver contracting training to internal teams as needed.

Compliance and Data Protection (approximately 30%)
- Develop and keep under review global compliance policies and procedures; deliver training; report to the Executive Leadership Team; instruct external counsel as required.
- Serve as Mood Media's Data Protection Officer, discharging that role independently; act as point of contact for supervisory authorities and data subjects and monitor compliance with EU GDPR, UK GDPR and CCPA/CPRA.
- Advise the business on data protection obligations, review international data sharing and related agreements, and support privacy breach response and notification.
- Deliver the global Compliance Programme and internal audit/monitoring across Anti-Bribery and Corruption, FCPA, Health & Safety at Work, Economic Sanctions/OFAC, IT Security, Modern Slavery, Conflicts of Interest, Anti-Discrimination, Supplier Due Diligence, Data Retention and PCI Compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Law degree strongly preferred; or a degree in Business, Legal Studies or a related field.
- 8+ years in contracts management or a similar role, with a substantial sell-side focus, and a track record of taking complex agreements to signature without supervision on both standard and counterparty paper.
- Experience and confidence negotiating complex, global deals on client paper.
- Substantive global data privacy compliance experience; prior service as DPO or in a comparable lead data protection role strongly preferred. ESG experience is desirable.
- Experience of leading a compliance programme and presenting to executive leadership.
- Strong analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills; able to prioritize independently in a fast-paced, matrixed global business.
- Experience with CLM software and legal tech; proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Flexibility to accommodate calls across US time zones.
