Location: Livingston, West Lothian
Company: Richmack Ltd
Role: Full-time, permanent

Richmack Ltd is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Contracts Engineer to join our team in Livingston.
We are a family-run civil engineering contractor delivering a wide variety of civil engineering, infrastructure, building, and maintenance works.
This is a varied role suited to someone with a strong civil engineering background who is comfortable taking responsibility for the planning, coordination, and delivery of multiple small projects at the same time.

The role will be based from our Livingston office, with regular site visits and hands-on involvement in the day-to-day delivery of projects. The majority of our work is within Livingston and the surrounding area, although occasional travel further afield may be required.

Our projects are delivered across a mixture of dayshift and nightshift working, and the successful candidate must therefore be flexible to suit project requirements. While the majority of the role will be undertaken during normal working hours, attendance on nightshift will be required where necessary to manage, supervise, or support specific works.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate multiple live and upcoming projects
  • Manage and allocate labor across site teams
  • Carry out site visits, surveys, and pre-start assessments
  • Review drawings, specifications, and client requirements
  • Prepare material take-offs and coordinate material requirements
  • Plan labor, plant, equipment, and subcontractor requirements
  • Prepare RAMS and other site-specific documentation
  • Provide technical and engineering support to site teams
  • Monitor progress, quality, and programme
  • Coordinate QA requirements and maintain appropriate site records
  • Liaise with clients, supervisors, operatives, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Identify and resolve technical and practical issues as they arise
  • Make day-to-day decisions to keep projects progressing
  • Identify variations and additional works and report these to the Contracts Manager
  • Assist with the development and improvement of company systems and procedures

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
