Job Title: Senior Control Manager, Compliance CCO

About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced professional to join our Compliance CCO Team on a 6-month fixed term contract. You’ll shape how Risk and Compliance manages non-financial risk across the Bank, working directly with senior stakeholders, influencing meaningful improvements to controls and risk culture, and gaining broad exposure across areas such as resilience, data, models, and change.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Risk and Control Assessments (RCAs) across the relevant Risk and Compliance remit, communicating outcomes to senior management
- Provide specialist risk and control advice on areas such as model risk, data risk, resilience, and change execution risk
- Assess control design and effectiveness, challenge Control Owners, and identify opportunities to strengthen or simplify the control environment
- Drive issues management, ensuring risks and control weaknesses are identified, recorded, remediated, and escalated promptly
- Produce insightful governance and risk reporting, including papers and packs that support senior-level decision-making
- Promote effective risk and control ownership, including training Risk and Control Owners and supporting the correct use of relevant systems and processes
- Identify emerging, thematic, and systemic risks, leading improvements to frameworks, taxonomies, monitoring approaches, and the wider risk culture

Requirements
- Strong risk and control subject-matter expertise, including experience assessing control design and operating effectiveness
- Extensive non-financial risk experience in a complex or global organisation, ideally across multiple jurisdictions and cultures
- Proven ability to challenge and influence senior stakeholders constructively and confidently
- Experience leading or contributing to risk assessments, issues management, and control monitoring
- Strong governance, analytical, and reporting skills, with the ability to present complex matters clearly and concisely
- Demonstrable leadership and decision-making capability, including making timely decisions under pressure and supporting high-performing teams
- Ability to operate effectively in a complex matrix environment, building relationships across Compliance, business lines, assurance teams, and other stakeholders
