adi Automation – Senior Control Systems Engineer
Location – Wirral, Liverpool
About The Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Control Systems Engineer to join our team in Wirral.
This is a hands-on role where you will take ownership of automation projects from initial client requirements through to design, programming, commissioning and handover. You will be expected to develop control solutions from scratch and provide technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle.
You will work closely with our multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver turnkey automation projects across sectors including food, beverage, chemical, marine and materials handling.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include
- Liaising directly with clients to understand requirements and develop appropriate engineering solutions.
- Taking ownership of projects from concept through to commissioning and handover.
- Designing, developing and programming PLC, HMI and SCADA systems from scratch.
- Developing PLC software using Rockwell Automation (Allen-Bradley) and/or Siemens platforms.
- Designing and implementing HMI and SCADA systems.
- Supporting FAT, commissioning and site start-up, resolving technical issues through to completion.
- Working with electrical, process safety and software engineers to deliver turnkey solutions.
- Preparing technical solutions and costed proposals where required.

About You
We would like to hear from you if you have:
- Strong experience in control systems engineering and industrial automation.
- Proven experience delivering projects from initial client requirement through to commissioning.
- The ability to design and develop control systems from a blank sheet of paper, rather than simply modifying existing systems.
- Strong PLC, HMI and SCADA programming experience.
- Experience with Rockwell Automation (Allen-Bradley) and/or Siemens.
- Experience working directly with clients and translating their requirements into practical solutions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
