This is a high-impact opportunity for a detail-oriented risk and controls professional who is ready to operate with accountability and influence meaningful outcomes across a global platform.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement effective controls to mitigate operational and compliance risks, documenting them in the firm's control inventory and ensuring they meet all applicable policy, legal, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct independent, comprehensive reviews of control effectiveness, including designing and assessing testing procedures and formally evaluating control performance against established thresholds.
- Identify emerging risks and control gaps proactively, escalate findings to risk management partners, and lead the issue management process from root cause analysis through to timely remediation.
- Manage and support control reviews, audits, and compliance assurance activities across all lines of defense, including providing business support for Manager's Control Assessment requirements.
- Review new and modified business processes to ensure controls are embedded by design and are sufficient to manage associated risks before implementation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
