Do you want to work for a leading food manufacturer, that values hard work, teamwork and developing people. They are part of a global group with multiple sites in the UK, this is their biggest factory employing over 500 people. They are looking for an experienced Senior Controls Engineer, to develop and maintain all site controls, automation and electrical infrastructure.

Role And Responsibilities As The Senior Controls Engineer

  • Managing a small team of shift controls engineers: development plans, objectives, training
  • Responsible for all matters relating to electrical standards and control systems
  • Be the Site Electrical Duty Holder: understanding electrical safety, legislation and compliance
  • Design, specification and purchasing of electrical equipment
  • PLC: programming, upgrades, modifications, documentation
  • Project management: installation, commissioning, development, programming, upgrades
  • SCADA Systems, HMIs, Network Systems
  • Monitor and track performance of controls equipment against continuous improvement activities

Knowledge, Skills and Experience needed to be the Senior Controls Engineer:

  • Must have worked in an FMCG / Food manufacturing environment
  • Be an experienced electrical / control expert: 10+ years
  • PLC: programmer: ideally Mitsubishi and Allen-Bradley
  • Prior experience of being a Site Electrical Duty Holder
  • Knowledge of electrical legislation, regulations, permits to work, isolation procedures
  • Project management experience: design, upgrades, specification, programming, installations
  • Proactive person, strong problem solver and sound decision-making skills
  • Ideally have previously led a small team of controls engineers
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems, HMIs and Network Systems
