Senior Conveyancer - Residential Property

Diss, Norfolk

Up to £60,000 depending on experience

Michelle Denny Recruitment is working with Jackamans Solicitors in Diss to find an experienced Conveyancer to join their Residential Property team.

There’s a very straightforward reason this opportunity has come about. A long standing senior member of the team is retiring at the end of the year and Jackamans is planning ahead.

For the right person, that creates an interesting opportunity to come into a settled team, take on an established residential caseload and, over time, become an important part of the future of the department.

The role

You’ll manage your own varied residential conveyancing caseload, working directly with clients from instruction through to completion.

Your work is likely to include:

  • Freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
  • Remortgages
  • Transfers of equity
  • Other residential property matters

Some experience of commercial property would certainly be useful, but it isn't essential. Residential conveyancing is the main focus.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

This isn't being recruited as a management role and Jackamans isn't looking for somebody to arrive and immediately take over a team. What they do want is an experienced, dependable Conveyancer who can manage their own matters confidently, build good relationships with clients and colleagues and potentially take on more responsibility as the role develops.

Who could suit the role?

Your route into conveyancing isn't particularly important. You could be a Solicitor, Legal Executive, Licensed Conveyancer or an experienced non qualified Conveyancer.

What matters more is that you have good residential property experience, can confidently run your own caseload and enjoy the client side of the job as much as the technical work.

Why Jackamans?

One of the things that has stood out to me while working with Jackamans is how long many of their people stay.

It's a very settled firm with low staff turnover and colleagues who have built substantial careers there. This vacancy itself has arisen because of retirement, rather than somebody simply moving on.

For someone who is looking for a role where they can settle, build relationships and have a longer term place within the firm, I think there's quite a lot to like here.

What’s on offer?

  • Salary up to £60,000 depending on experience
  • A permanent role within the Residential Property team in Diss

You don't need to be actively job hunting to have a conversation.
