Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Role
You will lead the rebuild of a modern, efficient conveyancing team. From day one, you’ll have the freedom and support to run residential conveyancing matters, shape new workflows, and build your own team. There’s a true balance here – leadership, hands-on casework, and commercial acumen, all with no inherited problems.
- Running and supervising residential conveyancing files (freehold, leasehold, new build, lender work)
- Designing and improving workflows and templates
- Ensuring compliance and managing risk within the department
- Building positive relationships with estate agents and clients
- Recruiting and mentoring future support staff as the department grows
- Reporting directly to the Principal
What We're Looking For
- A minimum of 5 years’ PQE in residential conveyancing
- Qualified Solicitor or CILEx Lawyer
- Proven ability across a variety of transaction types
- Strong commercial awareness – you understand throughput and viability
- Organised, process-driven, calm and steady communicator
- Confidence and professionalism, with no perfectionist bottlenecks or drama
- Ready to lead, not just fee-earn
- This is a senior leadership role, not a “quality-only” low-volume position
- Typical caseload: 35–45 active matters, supported by administration staff
- Clear autonomy to run the department, balanced with accountability for commercial results
