Job title: Senior Corporate Commercial Client Advisor

Salary: £45,000
Location: Reading

PURPOSE OF ROLE

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Client Advisor to join a well-established commercial insurance broking business in Reading. This is a great fit for someone who thrives in a fast-moving broking environment and wants to play a key role in supporting Client Executives across both renewal business and new client wins.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support Client Directors/Managers in servicing and retaining existing accounts while helping to generate new business
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, insurers and colleagues across the business
  • Ensure full compliance with the company's internal policies and relevant FCA regulations, including Treat Customers Fairly (TCF) and Consumer Duty principles
  • Uphold high standards of professional conduct in line with the FCA Individual Conduct Rules
  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling within the existing client bank

DAY-TO-DAY

  • Act as first point of contact for clients on day-to-day queries, renewals and mid-term adjustments
  • Develop a thorough understanding of each client's business and insurance requirements across a broad risk spectrum, including Material Damage, Liability, Cyber and Management Liability/Professional Indemnity
  • Maintain accurate client records on the company's broking platform and produce system invoices for renewals and mid-term adjustments
  • Prepare renewal letters and renewal reports for Client Managers/Directors
  • Present accurate risk information to insurers via market presentations and handle follow-up queries
  • Negotiate terms with insurers and review policy documentation for accuracy
  • Support Client Managers/Directors on client visits where required
  • Take ownership of issues through to resolution, escalating where necessary
  • Chase outstanding client debt as needed and delegate tasks to broker support where appropriate

EXPERIENCE

  • Around 4-5 years' experience in a Client Adviser role within commercial insurance broking is preferred but not essential
  • Cert CII qualified, or equivalent experience/willingness to work towards this
  • Solid understanding of the insurance market and regulatory environment

SKILLS

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Good negotiation and time management ability
  • High attention to detail
  • Proactive, self-motivated and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
