About Unity Advisory
Unity Advisory is a modern advisory business built for today's CFO, with connected solutions across finance, deals and tax. Focussed on client outcomes, seasoned experts lead every engagement, in an operating model powered by AI and free from audit conflict.
The Role
We're looking for a Manager to lead our corporate tax advisory practice. You'll run a portfolio of client engagements across corporate structuring, M&A tax, and strategic planning, supporting CFOs and business leaders on decisions that move the needle. You'll lead the technical work, be the trusted point of contact for clients, and develop our team as we scale.
This is a genuine opportunity to shape how the team operates, not slot into an existing one. Unity's technology and AI tools handle the heavy lifting on compliance, data analysis and scenario modelling, freeing you up for the strategic thinking and client relationships that drive real value.
Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of corporate tax advisory engagements across multiple sectors and transaction types.
- Develop and deliver tax strategy recommendations on structuring, planning and optimisation, translating complexity into clear commercial advice.
- Prepare and review corporate tax compliance work, ensuring technical accuracy and full compliance with current legislation.
- Manage HMRC correspondence and enquiries, representing clients effectively and negotiating outcomes on their behalf.
- Work with clients on M&A tax due diligence, transaction structuring and post-deal tax integration planning.
- Produce clear, well-structured technical reports and client-facing deliverables that explain tax positions in plain terms.
- Coach and develop junior team members through day-to-day oversight, review and quality control.
- Contribute to business development, including proposals, pitches and growth opportunities within existing and new client relationships.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
