SENIOR COST ACCOUNTANT – RENEWABLE ENERGY
Chester | 4 Days Office / 1 Day Home | Permanent | International Business
£65,000–£75,000 + Bonus & Benefits
Do you enjoy getting under the skin of projects, understanding where money is being spent and helping operational teams make better commercial decisions?
We Do Group are partnering with a fast-growing international business within the Offshore Wind & Renewable Energy sector to recruit a Senior Cost Accountant.
This is a newly created role with plenty of scope to make it your own. Rather than inheriting a finished reporting structure, you'll have the opportunity to improve how project costs are tracked, reported and understood across the business.
About This Business
This is an ambitious international business delivering complex projects across the global offshore wind industry.
With entities across the UK, US, Poland and Taiwan, they're operating across multiple projects, currencies and geographies. The business is growing quickly and the finance function is evolving with it, making this a great time to join and help shape what good looks like.
The Role!
Sitting within Group Finance and reporting into the Group Financial Controller, you'll become the finance point of contact for Project Managers and commercial teams across the business.
A big part of the role will be bringing greater visibility and control around project costs, margins, forecasts and WIP, while giving operational teams the information they need to make better decisions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
