We are looking for a Senior Cost Controller to support the financial and operational close-out of a defence project, providing SAP-based cost control, timesheet administration, procurement support, forecasting and month-end reporting.
Responsibilities
- Manage labour timesheets, per diems and booking codes in SAP.
- Raise PRs, manage POs and process supplier invoices/GRNs.
- Support project forecasting, accruals and month-end reporting.
- Maintain project cost codes and financial data within SAP.
- Produce cost and resource reports for project stakeholders.
- Reconcile Fieldglass and SAP labour records.
- Support supplier onboarding and procurement activities.
- Assist with project financial close-out activities.
Essential Skills
- Proven Cost Controller / Project Controls / Cost Engineering experience.
- Strong SAP knowledge in a project environment.
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
- Ability to champion high performance and inspire others
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of contract and commercial management

- Defence or Nuclear sector experience.
- Fieldglass experience.
- Existing SC Clearance.
Experience
This role will suit candidates with a background in finance, accountancy, project management and project controls; looking for a change in direction and a strong desire to develop themselves, as well as people with existing project experience as a project cost engineer.
- Experience working with senior level managers both internally and externally.
- Experience with forecasting, accruals and month-end reporting.
- Experience working on engineering, infrastructure, nuclear or defence projects.
What Do I Need Before I Apply
This is a hybrid role with 2 days per week onsite at Burghfield, Reading.
