Senior Cost Manager/Senior Quantity Surveyor – Infrastructure

About the Role

We are looking to recruit Senior Cost Managers / Senior Quantity Surveyors to join our busy and expanding Infrastructure business, supporting our clients across a range of prestigious infrastructure projects across Ireland.


Key Duties

  • Building and maintaining friendly, professional, and appropriate relationships with clients, colleagues, and other project stakeholders.
  • Administering contracts in line with project objectives, policies, and commitments.
  • Providing accurate cost monitoring, forecasting, and reporting to project completion, ensuring alignment with budgets.
  • Proactively managing cost variance and contract cash flow, ensuring applications for payment are submitted promptly and correctly.
  • Collaborating with client and contractor teams to deliver project deliverables, KPIs, and objectives, including:
    • Programme performance
    • Cost control
    • Value engineering
  • Effectively managing contract changes to retain governance adherence and uphold best practice.
  • Driving improvements in forecasting accuracy and budget quality.
  • Offering strong commercial knowledge to support stakeholders at all levels.
  • Negotiating and agreeing final accounts to completion.
  • Leading people and projects as required.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in numeracy and computer literacy, with expert-level skills in Microsoft Excel and contract administration software.
  • Experience in both pre- and post-contract roles, including:
    • Cost planning
    • Procurement
    • Contract formation
    • Post-contract cost control
    • Value management/engineering
    • Risk management
    • Final accounts
  • Qualified graduate with at least 10 years of relevant work experience in a recognised discipline.
  • Preference for experience in large civil engineering projects within the rail, water, or aviation sectors, though other large infrastructure projects will also be considered.
  • Working knowledge of the NEC 3 or 4 form of contract.
  • Chartered status via RICS or SCSI.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to influence at senior levels, and think strategically.
  • Legal right to work in Ireland and the UK.
