SENIOR COST MANAGER / QUANTITY SURVEYOR – LONDON

Competitive Package / Cost Consultancy / Client-Side - London

Ready to take ownership of major projects rather than just manage a spreadsheet?

An established and growing cost consultancy is looking for a Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to join its London team.

This is a genuinely client-facing role, giving you the opportunity to take ownership of projects from feasibility and cost planning through procurement and into post-contract delivery.

The Role

You’ll be trusted to:

  • Lead cost management across your own projects
  • Develop and manage cost plans, budgets and forecasts
  • Provide clear commercial advice directly to clients
  • Manage valuations, financial reporting and project performance
  • Lead risk and value management
  • Support procurement, tendering and contractor selection
  • Administer JCT and NEC contracts
  • Work across both pre- and post-contract stages
  • Build strong client and stakeholder relationships
  • Support and mentor junior team members
  • Get involved in bids, business development and growing the wider team

What are they looking for?

You’ll ideally have:

  • 5+ years' experience within cost management / quantity surveying
  • A background in cost consultancy or a similar client-side environment
  • Strong pre- and post-contract experience
  • Good working knowledge of JCT and NEC
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction, Engineering or a related discipline
  • MRICS qualified or working towards it would be advantageous
  • Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills
  • The confidence to take ownership of projects and work with minimal supervision
  • A commercially astute, proactive and solutions-focused approach
