Senior Cost Manager – Infrastructure (Edinburgh)
About the Role
We’re seeking experienced Cost Managers eager to advance into senior roles within cost management. Join our Edinburgh team to develop in a dynamic environment, working on infrastructure projects—including transportation, utilities, and highways. This opportunity offers project exposure across diverse sectors, skilled mentorship, and support for professional development.
As a Senior Cost Manager, you’ll:

Key Responsibilities
Your role will focus on cost leadership, contract administration, and stakeholder collaboration across project lifecycle stages.
Core Duties
- Client & Stakeholder Relations: Build trust and professional partnerships with clients, colleagues, and project parties.
- Contractual Compliance: Manage a range of contracts according to project objectives and policies.
- Financial Oversight:
- Accurate cost monitoring, forecasting, and reporting.
- Proactive cost variance and cash flow management, ensuring on-time applications.
- Performance Driver:
- Work with client/ modifier teams to track deliverables, KPIs, value engineering, and programme alignment.
- Straelectronment change requests, ensuring adherence to governance and best practices.
- Continuous Improvement: Enhance forecasting, budget accuracy, and crude cost engineering.
- Commercial Support: Provide subject-matter expertise to external stakeholders.
- Final Accounts: Negotiate and finalise project settlements without dispute.
- People Leadership: Lead teams and external parties as required.

Essential Retail Skills & Knowledge
A proven track record and a clear understanding of the following will give you the edge:
- Strong communication, negotiation, and reporting skills (excellent verbal and written).
- Experience with contract frameworks, specifically NEC3 Option C (preferred).
- Proficiency in cost planning, analysis, and management.
- Reformative change management and risk mitigation.
- Valuation techniques and commercial awareness.
- Procurement strategies and pricing methodologies.
- Industry acumen on construction strategies, value management and technical risks.
- Covent-to-project collaboration and client-centric habit forming.
- Delegation, mentoring, and people management experience.
- Efficiency analysis and inspectioning project lifecycle improvements.

Ideal Qualifications
- A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (civil engineering, project management, construction management, etc.).
- Hold or be working towards industry professional membership (e.g., ICE CEng, MRICS, MRCA).
