Senior Cost Manager | Belfast
Construction Consultancy | Career Progression Opportunity
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Cost Manager to join a highly regarded construction consultancy based in Belfast.
This is an excellent opportunity for a driven Cost Manager who is looking to take the next step in their career, working on a diverse portfolio of exciting projects across Northern Ireland and the wider island of Ireland.
You will join a collaborative Cost Management team, working closely with Directors and senior stakeholders while delivering high-quality commercial advice across a range of sectors including commercial, healthcare, education, residential, infrastructure, public sector development, regeneration and mixed-use schemes.
The Role:
As Senior Cost Manager, you will take responsibility for managing projects from a cost and commercial perspective, providing expert advice throughout the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing cost estimates, cost plans and procurement strategies
- Managing tender processes, analysis and reporting
- Providing contract administration and commercial management support
- Managing valuations, payment assessments, change control and cost reporting
- Supporting risk management, value engineering and final account negotiations
- Building strong relationships with clients, contractors and project teams
- Supporting junior team members and contributing to team development
- Assisting with business development and maintaining long-term client relationships

About You:
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Experienced Cost Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor with strong consultancy experience preferred
- Solid pre and post-contract experience
- Experience working with construction contracts including JCT, NEC or similar
- Strong commercial awareness with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Confident managing client relationships and working independently
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members
- MRICS qualified or working towards chartership (preferred)
